Our 2023 Houyi Cabernet Sauvignon is a study in elegance and restraint, channeling the rocky red soils of Pritchard Hill into a wine of striking mineral balance. The nose is refined and Bordeaux-like, with graphite and iron notes leading into a progression from red fruit brightness to a darker, toasty core. The palate is lean and focused, balancing energy with quiet strength. Decanting will reveal further dimension, allowing the wine's stony backbone and layered fruit to fully emerge.

Crafted from sites on Pritchard Hill, Oakville, and pristine sites on the valley floor, we consider this wine a showcase of the “art of the blend” on behalf of our team and Philippe Melka.
Composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2023 Vinturist leans into the more brooding side of the vintage while still carrying the lift and freshness that define our style. Against a backdrop of dark fruit, layers of savory depth unfold, revealing notes of black olive, graphite, and Mediterranean spice. A subtle, meaty richness and minerality anchor the palate, while finely structured tannins guide the wine’s progression. At once powerful yet buoyant, this wine invites a slow discovery of the beauty within the singular 2023 vintage.
